Prices are per course. Count the students taking that course across all your classes; your biggest course sets the size. More than 300 students, or several teachers sharing one plan, is a school plan.

Buying questions
Can my school pay with a purchase order?
Yes, on the school-year and yearly plans. Choose to pay by invoice and your plan starts right away; we email the invoice to the address you give (your bookkeeper or front office), due in 30 days. Your class keeps working while it is processed. Answer keys unlock once it is paid. Monthly plans are card only. Buying for several teachers? The school plan is invoiced once for everyone.
What happens over the summer?
The school-year plan renews every August 1, so one payment covers the year, summer included. If you start a school-year plan within 45 days of August 1, you are not charged until then. On a monthly plan you can pause instead of canceling, from May through July: no charges, and your classes, student progress, and custom units stay as they are. Full course content is locked during the pause (Unit 1 stays open), and billing restarts August 1 or the day you resume.
How does the free trial work?
You get 14 days of the full Classroom plan. A card is required at checkout, and you are not charged if you cancel before the trial ends. There is one trial per teacher account and per card. During the trial, answer keys (the all-answers view and printable keys) stay locked. Your students still see the answer and explanation for each question after they answer it.
How are students counted, and what if my class grows?
Per course, across all of your classes that take it. If a student joins after the course is full, they wait on your roster, you get a notice, and you can move up a size from Billing. Changes are prorated, so you only pay the difference.
Do students pay anything?
No. Students join a licensed class free with its code and need no email address. Anyone signed in can also study Unit 1 of every course for free.
How is student data protected?
We collect only what the product needs to work: a name, a username, an optional email, and the work students do. We never sell student data or use it for advertising. AI scoring sees a student’s answer, never their name or email, and written feedback comes only from providers that do not keep or train on it. Artwork photos are scored by an OpenAI model through OpenRouter with data collection denied. Your school controls its records, and we sign data privacy agreements on request. Is AI scoring included?
Yes. Every licensed teacher gets 600 AI credits a month, and every student in a licensed class gets 150. Scoring a free response usually uses 1 credit, detailed written feedback about 2, and a question to the tutor about 1. Scoring photos of artwork in the art and design courses uses 10, because it runs on an image model. Allowances reset each month. Extra credit packs are available and never expire.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from Billing. Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. Your classes, rosters, and analytics stay readable for 24 months, so you can pick up where you left off.
Do I still need AP Classroom?
Use both. AP Classroom is the College Board’s own free resource. Fivefold adds what a busy AP teacher does not have time to build: full lessons on a path, study guides, rubric-based scoring with feedback, and mastery and predicted scores for every student. Fivefold is not affiliated with the College Board.
